Between our health system turning inside out and the amount of toxins in our daily intake, preventative health treatments (i.e. massage, yoga, conscious diet, muscular-skeletal awareness,) can only increase our current state of well being . In the united states massage therapy is considered a luxury, saved for special events. Where as in Eastern countries it is equivalent to $10 an hour because of the common known demand and in the U.K. & Europe it is a well respected medical profession, never resulting in sexual innuendo. The concept of "luxury Massage" is slowly disolving as the reality and necessity of Massage Therapy integrates the Western Health Industry, accompanying chiropractic work , psycho therapy, sports medicine & general rehabilitation. It was here long before a syringe or oxygen mask, Massage & human touch are the most healing stimuli to the brain; the master of the nervous system. The relationship between kinetic energy and potential energy is the story of Massage Therapy and Body Work modalities of a wide variety. From chiropractic to ethereal light workers, these practitioners can only facilitate one's capability to change with the momentum of one's own "flow." As the body continues to sluff off and regenerate its physical nuances the energetic field and endocrine systems are holding onto and processing emotional/mental memories, leaving us with tension & internal disparities between past, present & future states. Adhering to every individual's situation, moving stagnant energy (or knots) back into the current of the blood stream, allows freedom! Or do yoga...both?
Having never studied Quantum theories in depth, I can only express my untrained retention of these concepts.
Massage Therapy and Yoga inspire our lives. With our breath and acute attention to the details of our body we can realign, heal and transform our physical, mental & "spiritual" relationships with self.
I never planned on this career path, but I see it more as a life path, as the human body is part of every moment of conscious living. I see this as a beginning to my life long journey, unraveling the mysteries of our bodies & minds. A second perspective on existence- askew from the habitual tendencies of our western minds.
Habit is the product of domestication.
